Ultra High Temperature Coatings

Ultra-High Temperature Coatings

Plasma Processes provides materials solutions for a wide range of industrial applications to improve performance, extend service life and enhance the appearance of engineered components.

Net-Shape Fabrication

Additive Fabrication

Both EL-Form® Electrodeposition and Vacuum Plasma Spray processes are used for net-shape forming of structures. Net-shape manufacturing reduces the cost of fabrication due to high material utilization and reduced machining.

Aerospace

Plasma Processes offers engineered materials solutions meeting demanding performance criteria, stringent quality requirements, and challenging schedules for aerospace and defense programs.

Plasma Spray Coatings

Unique Processes

Plasma Processes offers a wide range of manufacturing and coating processes, each with unique characteristics for specific applications.  Our core competencies include a complete family of thermal spray processes; EL-Form® molten salt electrodeposition; & Powder Alloying and Spheroidization services.

Wear & Corrosion Resistance

Wear & Corrosion Resistance

Coatings are employed to address many wear mechanisms including abrasion, erosion, cavitaiton, galling and fretting. Coating hardnesses can be engineered, ranging from the low 20s through the low 70s.

Powder Alloying & Spheroidization

Powder Alloying & Spheroidization (PAS) transforms flaky and angular powder particles into spheres, resulting in free-flowing powder feedstock with enhanced physical characteristics. Virtually any powder or powder alloy, including crystalline, spray-dried, blended, agglomerated and composite powders, can be processed.

Defense

Defense

Plasma Processes offers engineered materials solutions meeting demanding performance criteria, stringent quality requirements, and challenging schedules to our aerospace and defense customers.

Atmospheric Plasma Spray

Processes

Plasma Processes offers a wide range of manufacturing and coating processes, each with unique characteristics that make it attractive for specific applications.  Our core competencies include a complete family of thermal spray processes, and EL-Form® electrodeposition for coatings and net-shape manufacturing; Powder Alloying and Spheroidization for the production and toll processing of spherical and alloyed powders; and a complete metallurgical laboratory for material analysis and characterization.  Additionally, we offer consulting and contract research and development.

Materials

Materials

Plasma Processes offers a wide variety of materials and material combinations to produce coatings and net-shape components. Virtually any material with a true melt point can be deposited by thermal spray processes. Materials that dissociate, decompose or sublime at elevated temperatures can also be deposited when combined with other materials. Thus most metals; intermetallics; alloys, all forms of ceramics including oxides, borides, silicides, etc; cermets; and some polymers are sprayable by one or more of the thermal spray processes. Metal, graphite, carbon fiber composites, ceramics, plastics, and paper and be used as coating substrates.
